Transfer case motor 2005 F150
Looks like my transfer case motor is starting to stick, wont go int 4x4 without the help of a rock or whatever is handy at the time (kinda embarrasing really). Anyway, has anyone taken one of these motors apart to see what the problem actually is? Are there contacts that just get dirty? Cant imagine that the only fix is a new motor. If so, whats the cost of a new t-case motor and how big of a job is it? Thanks, Mark

I believe there are some armatures in there that get corroded, but I’ve never taken one apart myself.

HI Mark,
Welcome to FTE.I haven't taken one apart to see if you could repair one,not sure if it's possible. Maybe someone will chime in for yah. If you get stuck and you end up having to buy one I have them instock. Here's a link to the one for your application. F150 Transfer Case Shift Motor |
