2004 F-250 Sport Crew Cab (5.4 L if that matters) I currently have BF Goodrich 295x75x16's on my truck (bought them in 04 and got 65k miles and 5 winters out of them) I am buying new tires this year and am looking for some assistance. I would like to possibly go up one ties size (as my wheel well still looks not full). I do zero towing, and the only thing my truck is used for is hunting. She has seen quite her share of mud holes. The only road use she gets is to and from the woods. Can I go with the 305x75x16 or 305x70x16? Any help would be appreciated (or other recommendations of sizes that will work.) I am happy with my BFG's, unless someone can suggest a suitable replacement. Thanks guys!

305s might be a bit too wide for stock wheels.

First, find out what rims you have, they should be 7" wide rims, if they are the stock 16" wheels.

Then, look at tire specs. They all have a recommended, and min/max rim width.

You could always get a tire with a higher sidewall aspect ratio, however I believe you might have trouble finding them.

You can figure out tire sizes with some simple math. Let's take your tire, for instance: 295/75R16.

295 is the width in mm of the widest point at the sidewall. To convert to inches you must divide by 25.4. So 295/25.4=11.6".

Next you have the sidewall aspect ratio. In this case the number is 75, meaning the sidewall is 75% of the width. 11.6*.75=8.7"

To get the overall height you take 8.7"*2=17.4"+16" for the wheel=33.4".

Now, I'm not sure if you have any sort of lift on your truck, but generally 33" is the biggest you can go on a stock height. 2" or so of lift will get you to 35".
