Location of horn relay

1989 F-150 4 wheel drive, with cruise control, 4.9 six cylinder. Can't find the horn relay. All my other sources say mounted to the cruise control amplifier bracket. Not there on this truck. Can someone help? Thanks.

Hi,
Acording to my 1986 Ford shop manual its located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column & is mounted on the outboard attaching screw of the speed control amplifier module.
Hope this helps

The horn relay is located on the Right Hand side of the IP near the Hazard Flasher & glove box.

It is at location C-1 in the diagram below:

Here is a picture of the horn relay in my '87. It's at the top end of the two yellow wires. The bundle is the cruise control vacuum line and wiring pass-through in the firewall, with the top of the throttle pedal also in view. I have no idea how many years they put it in this location.

The 1989 & 1990 shop manuals say it is over by the glove box as in the diagram above.

That is what Alldata, said also, but on this vehicle the cruise amplifier is to the right of the steering column. Almost to the center of the dash.

Thanks to subford, his component diag showed me the correct location. Behind the glove box, almost down in the kick panel.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

I have a 1986 with cruise control and can't locate the horn relay anywhere. My truck originally had cruise control, previous owner had steering column problems and horn didn't work so he ran a line to the horns and mounted a push switch on the dash, now that doesn't work either. I found a disconnected dark blue wire near the horn and reconnected it, it worked but a few minutes later it did not work, this is driving me nuts, I want the horns to work and is required to pass the state safety test. I could forget about using the cruise control just want to be able to toot the horn when needed, just want to know the best way to get a horn , thanks, Barry
