2000 idles but dies if given pedal

anyone know what that might be???

How does it die? Sputter and cough or like someone just turned the key off?

Need more info. How many miles on truck? How many miles on oil and is it full? Fuel and air filter good? Any dash lights flash when this happens? Can you be more specific on "give it pedal"? Can you push it down slowly and keep it running? What RPM's does it cut out at?
