doing the 9", need lower f2 shock mount

we will be putting a 9" in my '49 f-1 this spring. thought i would test the waters to see if anyone has a pair of lower f-2 shock mounts for sale to save us doing a ham and egg fab job. if you have some, let me know. willing to pay fair price (plus shipping obviously). thanks, dick r

Check Speedway Motors - Racing Equipment, they have plates that look like just what we need for the 9" swap - haven't had time to completely check it out.

For the unwashed and unworthy (myself), does anyone have a picture of the elusive endangered species F 2 lower rear shock mount, I have never seen one and would like to before they become completely extinct. Thanks. :-innocent :-wow

dick c. sure looks like what i need. i'll call speedway and make sure it's what we want and report back. i haven't even picked up the 9" yet (prob tomorrow or poss next week) and my truck is parked outside covered in snow. i knew i could save some time calling on the collective brainpower of fte. dick r.

talked to the speedway tech for a couple minutes. told him (i think i'm right here) that the f1 springs are 2" wide. he said we might had to mod the plate for that (most springs are 2 1/2"?). once it is bolted in, would that be an issue? do we need to weld in some spacers to keep the axle from sliding sideways? from pics the speedway looks very similar to stock but will accommodate a 3" axle. dick r.

The problem I see with the spring plate posted above is that you will have to relocate your upper shock mounts. Keep in mind that your springs are outside of the frame.

The F-2 brackets look the same as the F-1, just a little larger.

F-1 on left, F-2 on right:

The springs shouldn't slide from side-to-side due to the bolt head being engaged in the center hole that, along with the pressure of the U-bolts sliding shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you Bob and HD for the pics!
(I’m humbled in the presence of such greatness.)

There are a couple of other one also - spaced closed to the F1/9" with weld on locators.

I would look at the 58-60's F100s. That is what I got ,and they will fit allow the 9" to use the stock upper shock supports. There are 3 pcs. for each plus the U-Bolts. (a top plate, the bottom cast piece and the shock support.

Sorry about the picture, it was all I have on this computer.
