2.3 to a 2.9 85 ranger
 

i have a 1985 ranger with the 2.3 thats way past its prime ive got a 1986 ranger with the 2.9 and am not really sure what all i need both are fuel injected

im 17 and this is my first engine swap with fuel injected i dont wanna mess up

What's wrong with the '86?

Basically, you need to swap what's in and attached to the '86 engine & trans and fuel and exhaust etc etc to the earlier truck if you are going to do the swap.

Is that the easier swap, or would the good parts from the '85 bring the '86 up to snuff?
