Which engine do you have? Unless it's the 460 you would have an internal slave cylinder and have to remove the transmission to replace the slave cylinder.

the clutch master cylinder is fairly easy to knock out. disconnect the plunger from the clutch pedal from within the cab( it just pry's off) then drive the roll pin out at the bottom of the clutch resevior under the hood. carefully pull out the line. this will drain out the brake fluid that is in your resevior. then remove the two bolts that connect the master to the firewall of the truck. carefully pull the old master out of the firewall and everything will come out. next take the electrical sending unit off of the old clutch resevior. on the new master insert the plunger rod into the back of the master until you hear it click(lock) into place. then, transfer the sending unit over to the new resevior. install new resevior to firewall, and attach plunger to the back of the clutch pedal once again. plug in electrical clutch unit back to plug. put new o ring on line and push up into bottom of resevior. make sure it is al the way up and carefully drive in the new roll pin. this will lock the new line into place. fill with fluid. thats about it for the master.

for the slave. disconnect battery. remove shifter boot and shifter on both trans, and transfer case(if applicable) . drain fluid out of trans. case and transmition. remove drive shafts. disconnect and remove starter. disconnect clutch line going into transmition(you will need a special tool for this;comes in a clutch kit) place jack under trans and support. remove trans mount and trans crossmember. remove all bell housing bolts. carefully slide trans back and lower down to ground. inside bellhousing you will see the slave. remove the two 10 or 12 mm bolts(i beleive thats the size.....) and remove old slave. install new slave and tighten down. wipe down inside of bell housing if it is covered with brake fluid from the slave. then your done with that, and install is reverse of removal. after everything is installed back, fill with fluid, and bleed clutch system.
please keep in mind that i did this on my 95 which had the 4.9 straight six, and i did not have to remove parts of the exhaust, or the floor pan around the shifter under the carpet.
anyone else if i have missed anything please chime in.....

no clutch

i have a 93, f-250 4x4,up to now the clutch worked fine. The truck sat for a couple months and when i went to start it there was no clutch, the pedal goes to the floor and nothing, stays there. What is the cause?

Wow, bringing zombie threads back to life...

This sounds silly, but have you checked clutch fluid reservoir?
