Decontenting?
 

Have you noticed any "Decontenting" from one model year to another of the current generation of Expeditions?

"Decontenting" is when the Ford bean-counters sneak features out of vehicles and hope we won't notice. :-X15

For instance, the earliest 2003 Mercury Marauders had things like a fuel-filler door release, automatic parking brake release, separate clock, and extra map pockets. Later '03s and 2004s didn't have any of those.

I noticed a similar trend with my 1995 Taurus SHO versus my 1991 SHO... all little stuff, but Ford has a bit of a track record of doing this.

So, have you noticed any features that have disappeared entirely, or been bumped from standard to optional?

the power lift gate is now standard...used to be optional

I noticed that when I traded my 03 Supercrew for an 06 Supercrew, simple things like rear reading lights, which the kids loved were no longer in the 06 model, the rear seat folded down flat and had a storage bin behind the seat the 06 folded seat up only and had no extra bin. grab handles were no longer on rear entry seats. jsut a few simple things I missed, cant speak for the Expy as this is the first one I have owned.

Nothing on the 07-10 models. Like Tylus said, making certain features standard when they were optional. Chrome exhaust tip, liftgate, cross bars, etc.
