January B.S. and general cold weather thread

Welcoming in January a couple days late but better late than never.

How cold is where you are at?
I hear we will be close to 0° this weekend.
Plenty of snow this year so far.

How Y'all doing out west and in mid state?

jdecker88 01-06-2010 01:47 PM

Snow? Neal all of the NorthEast TN guys are hogging it from the rest of us ;). We just get flurries and cold weather.

Is the driveway all nice and slicked up for us Saturday ;).

Well, they have been calling for snow on and off up here on the Plateau for about 2 weeks. Have had nothing other than a light dusting so far. They are calling for 3-4" tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath. We have been having a cold spell though, lows over the weekend were down to 7-9 degrees at night and daytime highs in the mid 20's.

Well, let's see, it was 5* this morning when I got up at 430. It hit a balmy 17* here. I actually run cooler where I'm at then if you were to look at Nashville or Murfreesboro area weather(same with my place in NE TX).

Haven't had even so much as flurries at all this winter. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

I work for my city's Public Works and besides my regular duties we have been busting it getting the salt trucks ready. On top of that I'm on call this week and had to go out Monday night for a sewer line that busted about 3' deep. Think the rest of my week is gonna be busy.

Fun part about working for the city this time of year isn't it Tim? Your gonna burn that backhoe up lol.

The fun part in these temps is driving down the road with no windshield [ gives me a real meaning of the word "wind shield"]. Still luv it!

Paco_Jones 01-07-2010 04:22 PM

It's cold as crap here and we have not quite an inch on the ground. The roads are covering and I've been out playing around here and there. I hope we get more!

95_Dually 01-07-2010 04:59 PM

Yep, it is nice and cold here. It is a brisk 44*. Hey, that is higher than it's been in a week. I guess I cannot complain now.

We had clear skies until about an hour ago. Now it's over cast which may hold in the heat. Man I hope so.

Still no word on your fearless chapter leader?
