Nope, if you have triple A, have it towed to the dealer. They have the equipment to make a key and program it into the PATS.

the dealer I would think would charge a lot more than the locksmith ,?

Maybe. Still probably about one hour labor plus two keys.

Call the dealer and ask them.

dealer can't make a key unless you have the key code. ford codes only go back 10 years. they can make one up and put in a new key cylinder but then your key won't work your doors.

can a key be made from the vin # ?

benningstspeed1.0 01-04-2010 08:37 AM

NO KEY CODES LOOK UP ONLY GO BACK 10 YEARS

thanks
I guess its the locksmith for the ignition
hopefully that comes with a keyfob .
a new key fob should work ?
also when changing the ignition what do I have to do to get it to work ?
would it need to be reprogrammed ?

benningstspeed1.0 01-04-2010 09:50 AM

yes it will need reprogramed. the locksmith might be able to do that.

If you have comprenhensive insurance, lock-out service and new keys will be provided by them, it's what you are paying for.

Also, Pop A Lock service will do it for about $125.00 for both keys.

and one door key ?

Lost keys and broken glass are 2 very good reasons to have a low deductable comprehensive rider on your insurance. I've experienced a broken back glass on my Mark VIII due to hail, lost keys and a broken windshield from a stone on the Interstate. 0 deductable covered them all.:-X21
