diesel in radiator powerstroke
I HAVE A 95 F 350 7.3 TURBO , I DRAINED RAD. STARTED DIESEL COMES OUT THE DRAIN HOLE OF RADIATOR. WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS?
|
injector orings i would think
|
I really doubt injector o rings. Or the injector cups if it's getting into the radiator.
Are you sure its diesel coming out of it? I've only seen that once and it was a cracked head. |
why did you drain rad. to service or running hot
|
Cracked inj cup or head.

Had this on my buddys 2002 ...replaced Injector cups...fixed
|
is there a way to test for witch one or side. yes it,s puring out the rad drain hole.where can i find the video? i drained to chech for clogged heater core have not had heat for 6 months.rad is about 1 year old,new thermastic.I STARTED TO GET ALL WATER OUT TO REFILL WITH NEW ANTIFREEZE.
|
It's got to be injector cups, it's the only place #2 and coolant pass. And the fuel system runs at a much higer psi than the cooling system so it will overtake it and fill into the coolant.
A head would have to crack all the way from the fuel passage to the coolant passsage and I don't think that's very likely. |

Yep that works too. Pretty much for me if I have one that is leaking I am going to do them all anyway. or at least on bank. The only reason we have done them that way is we don't have the tools to R+R the cups and diagnose the issue and tell Ford what to fix. One of these days I need to build those tools. I am sure I will need them.....
Thing is the job is much worse in van body types. Its the install of the cup that is the real pita. I refuse to pull a head or motor for a cup replacement as i have seen others do. Bill |
