Turbo Oil Leak or CCV Oil?

Ok, so I have done a ton of reading and have found that oil can accumulate in the valley of the engine from the CCV. I have a 2002 Auto tranny that I have owned for about six months. It is leaking oil, but not much. I would say a spot about the size of my fist after sitting all night. There is no oil in the front of the valley, but plenty at the back of the valley. The intercooler pipes are pretty coated with oil and so my friend who is a diesel generator mechanic pulled the tubes with me and there was a fair amount of oil in them. He suggested that my turbo seals that are internal may be going and that I may have to replace or rebuild the turbo. Could the CCV be putting enough oil into the intake system to cause what looks like an oil leak? By the way great forum. First post because I always had my question answered pretty quickly. Thanks... Nick

Look closely at the turbo pedestal. Oil leaks a the rear of the valley can come from this area. It may be coming from the EBPV rod opening or the o-rings that seal the pedestal to the turbo or block. Loose boots at the intake spider can leak a fair amount of oil into the valley also.

I will post a pic tomorrow to show the intercooler pipes being coated with oil that makes me think that the oil is coming from them.

I agree with Roland, could be that EBPV rod on the pedestal(upper left hand corner in pic) and also these o-rings, you have to pull the turbo to get to these https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=215364&.jpg, if that the problem

Here are some pics of the intake area that makes me think the leak is coming from this pipe. I will clean with a degreaser tomorrow to narrow the leak down.

Wow, those pics will make our resident FTE brother Miller_feed cry, definetly clean her up, thats a typical oily boots look from the CCV but your oil puddle in the back of the valley sounds like was mentioned earlier, subscribing and welcome to FTE.

Yes. Definitely. The dirty boots and the oil leak are almost certainly separate issues.
