Hino Diesel engine??

Does anyone know what type of engine the HINO brand trucks have-a "338" model truck......

Hino uses their own engines.
i believe Hino is the heavy truck division of nissan

I believe they use their own engines. Hino is a subsidiary of Toyota.

Hino Trucks Engines

Hino manufactures their own engines [they are worlds 3rd largest truck manufacturer]. The engines and transmission have won JD Power Award last two years back to back [the first two years the award was offered]. They have a lot of info online at: Hino Trucks / HINO TRUCKS USA - MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS and SCR AND DEF FROM HINO LIGHT AND MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS [for 2010 emissions]. The new scr engines have much higher torque also... I just drove a MY2011 338 at a dealer launch ride and drive and it was great...

Disclaimer: my company provides services for Hino -
Note: If you need a contact at Hino let me know!

Hope that helps.
Best!

Guys, Thanks for the replies and info!!
I drive a Hino 338 straight truck with a 26' refrigerated box for my work and I must say that in the 4 months I've driven it I am very impressed so far.
I have driven the compairable Freightliner FL-70 and the International 4300 and the Hino has them both beat as far as I am concerned!! The Hino I drive is loaded with automatic trans, tilt, cruise, a/c, cd player, power windows, cloth air ride drivers seat, ect, nice, nice truck so far.
I kind of thought they had their own engine but now I've learned something today about Hino being a part of Toyota!! Very Cool!!
