Are you certain it has no pressure? Or are you going by the OEM dummy gauge? The oil pressure sending unit is a very common failure item.

I was going by the guage and the valvetrain noise. I ll get it warm and see what's the matter. It is below zero here.

Try warming the pan with a portable heater before starting the car,and see if the valvetrain noise stops. Depending on how cold it is-you may have some issues with the oil not being able to move-conventional oils are prone to this in extreme cold.

I would get a cheap guage from harbor freight or somewhere and install it and then try to run it, no pressure shut it down

I just bought a 98 expedition with a siezed engine for $500
that guy thought it was just the guage or sender too

changing that engine really sucked

though I have a nice truck now

Gotta get the escape back together first then roll the Tbird in and check her out. Can't fix em faster than they are going down. Its not the talent- its the checkbook holdin me back. still got my two trusty Toyota s to get us both here and there. But she keeps stealling the 4x4. And we gotta huge storm rollin' in today. they are claiming 20 plus inches and comparing it to 1968. wasn't around for that one but remember 96-97 that one was fun
