Hi all

Hi all from Salem OR. I have a 65 f100 352 4 speed that I bought for 350 last week. It has very little rust and is pretty straight. I don't want to restore it just make it a billboard/hauler with my own touches for my new landscaping business (that is how I explained it to my wife) Other than the huge clouds of smoke from the tailpipes, if it was in much better shape I would feel guilty changing it. I drove it home from Vancouver WA with no issues except for finishing off any bugs not killed by the cold weather. It came with what looks like a junk yard pulled 352? It has 72 casting # heads & 69 # intake I guess I am new to all the casting # stuff. I plan on stuffing the spare engine in and seeing if it is better. I also have a 67 mustang in the midst of a 6 to 8 swap and have an extra 302 (two donor granadas) that may be another option if bell housing motor mounts aren't a big problem. In the future disc brake power brakes and steering and 3/4 ton suspension are some things I plan on. Any Input is welcome as much of my mechanical experience has been of necessity not choice although I do enjoy It if I don't have to drive it to work in the AM if you Know what I mean.:-wow

Welcome!........You have come to the right place for advise on your 65, several members dabble in that vintage.

Thanks for the welcome. almost have the shop cleared out so I can do the swap.

fabmandelux 12-16-2009 11:44 AM

If ya need any parts for your 65 just let me know, I've got 2- 65 parts trucks..............

As far as putting in a 302, the bellhousing will be a issue, the FE engine is differant than the 302.

welcome to the chapter bliss

As far as needing parts not sure yet. I cleared out the shop and will soon put the spare motor in the truck and see what happens. How interchangeable are ford carbs wold one of the 302 carbs work? That is the one thing I may need the motorcraft on the spare looks iffy and the holly in the truck now seems a bit leaky and somehow incomplete. we will see
