Wheel well covers
I'm picking up a new XLT super crew tomorrow and I noticed that there are no covers or plastic shields in the wheel wells. You can see directly into the shocks, springs, etc. Since when did they stop including these covers? Not only does it look like heck, but the dirt and mud will now get all over these exposed parts! Is there an after market product that I can purchase and install myself? Crazy.
:( Thanks for the help. This board is great! |

:( Thanks for the help. This board is great! My 09 has them, 2010 must have thought they could save a $$$,:D:D |
I agree, not for the looks part but protection. I wish I could find them or fabricate something

can you get them for an '09 from a dealer and install them? Will that affect cooling? Maybe the electric fans had something to do with the decision to exclude them... or maybe they are making more room in the engine bay for a bigger engine...

Drop Ed a line here:
www.partsguyed.com or here: Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - View Profile: y2kfordparts He's a site sponsor and will deal on parts. He can also tell you if the same ones from the '09 will fit a 2010 and if so, he can get them for you. |
My 09 Lariat Screw DOES NOT have any covers. You can see the engine from the wheel wells. Truck was built in March 09.

Mine are plastic with rubber peices stapled to the plastic in the suspention (spelling) area.
Which trim level do you have? I am thinking maybe FX4 or 4x4 or maybe the heavy duty tow package might make a difference. |

I agree. I just picked up my 2010 XLT and find the wheel wells look ugly without an inner lining. I hope someone has a solution. Other ugly is the front license mount area is just a big oval opening. I don't need a front plate in Florida. I hope someone comes up with an after market grill piece. Other than that I love my Truck!!

It's absolutely rediculous not to have a liner in the front wheel wells but the rear IMO doesn't really matter.
