front axel

There is someone local selling a solid front axle out of a F250. I am unsure of the year. He wants $300 for complete rotor to rotor. How hard would it be to put under my 1991 F250 with leaf springs? Is $300 a good price? What should I look for in ways of damage or??

OK I just got a Email back from him saying it came out of a 2002 F250. I have the stock Dana 50 not a solid axle under there now. I know the Solid axle is stronger. I plan on putting a 4" lift in next year at that time I would be installing this axle if its worth it. Does someone know what Axle the 2002 out be?

Spring perches are different and so are the lug patterns so you won't be able to use your wheels.

It's a big hassle. Look for a solid Dana 60 from a 1986 to 1997 F-350.
