Forgot how to reset oil change and find door lock

2009 Limited 4x4, 7300 miles.

Forgot how to reset oil change and find door lock code, well, never did the oil thing before.

Looked in my owner's guide and can't find how to reset oil change.

Also, we can't remember where to find door unlock code in the owner's stuff. We looked, didn't find it.

Hell I just changed the tranny in my 01 Expedition in June and can't do this simple stuff...

It's all in the manual. You get a car with the door unlock code. If you bought it used, you will have to goto the dealer and have them pull the code via a computer hooked up to your car.

Thanks Chuck. We only use this truck for long trips and it hasn't been driven more than a few miles since July. The 2001 is used a lot though, especially in the mtns.

The link doesn't ref the message cntr we have but after sleeping on it, I seem to remember something with the reset button and a reference to the oil. Documentation for the msg cntr we have has been fairly lacking ,IIRC digging into it on the last trip.

Nice thing is Ford didn't chg filter type or oil weight between the 01 and the 09, so only have to stock one type when on sale.

So, now we're rushing to get the trailer and 09 ready for a couple thousand mile trip back east, and return, leaving today as soon as we can tie up loose ends to beat some potential snow forcasts.

I still need to find the code for the door, my SO said it was on a card in the owner's manual and now can't find it. First I heard abt it, or I would have already written it in the trailer.

I did cut a regular key blank to unlock the door and will put that in the trailer until we find where the card is or the code is hidden under the dash, etc. Usually she has this stuff memorized, I can't ever remember...

Also, we bought a couple of blank electronic keys on eBay in the spring and when we get to our destination will program them.

Berry, it was new.

The older models had the code hidden in different places under the dash, there have been a number of posts about it.

I don't remeber seeing any recent posts where there is a 'hidden' sticker on the latest models.

Pretty sure you have to pay the dealer to find the door code via the computer.

Also, you need two good keys to program any replacement keys. Was easy to do. The hardware store cut the keys for me but told me "You know these won't work, don't you?" Certainly didn't before I programmed them.

Sure this didn't work?

To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change
[approximately 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 180 days] perform the
following:

1. Press and release the SETUP
control to display “OIL LIFE =
XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.

2. Press and hold the RESET
control for 2 seconds and release.
Oil life is set to 100% and “OIL LIFE
SET TO 100%” is displayed.

They got rid of the code on the box in 07. Have to go to the dealer. If you bought it from a dealer, tell them you need the code, have them pay for it.
