2000 f150 no 4X4 in front wheels.
 

2000 f150 4X4 5.4L. this is a manual shift transfercase, with automatic transmission. the shift actuator is cracked and broke open, I think this was broken during the engine and tranny swap. when you put it in 4X4 the indicator light comes on and you can feel that it has engaged, the front wheels just arent working. Im leaning towards this part, but is there something else I could be overlooking? I have read that this part is for the electric shift transfercase so Im a little confused there. if this is the problem is the aftermarket part ok or should i go dealer part?

cracked and broke open will tell me its not working ,you need a new one.up to you i bought a aftermarket one and saved a bundle.be very careful getting it out as i broke the ear right off the housing myself now i got to pay for a welder.another alternitive to the actuator is to go with a posi-lock .check it out on line, looks interesting.
