Leveling kit
Im thinking of putting a leveling kit, maybe 2 inches, on the front of my 94 f150 4x4. It seems lower in the front than in the rear. most of them ive seen like this. So im wondering what you guys think of these kits and what is the difficulty level in installing one? thanks

You can do that, many people on here have done it. It works just fine. It is not difficult to install. You also don't even need a spring compressor. You will need new shocks and a fresh alignment afterwards.
I will say that if you haul anything or tow anything very often you will like probably not want to do it though. Any added weight squats the rear of the truck and then it will be hose high and not handle or stop as well. I had mine set up like that for a while and put it back to stock. |
check out the pics in my profille and you can see what a leveling kit looks like on your body style truck. mine has 31's on it. as far as leveling it out you can either replace the whole spring, or put in a spring spacer. the whole idea of a spacer made me a little uneasy so i just replaced the spring. cost wise the spacers, and the springs are just about the same. yes, you will need to replace your shocks as well. i bought all of my stuff from roughcountry.com. i replaced all six shocks and the springs. install time of it prolly only took about and hour and a half. nothin too complicated there. one thing also is that lifting it will throw your truck out of camber so you will need to get new camber bushings. installing them is a major PITA. if you dont wana mess with it any decent alignment shop can swap em out for you. so basically what i would reccomend is : springs, shocks, camber bushing, alignment. all in all, it ended up costing me about $300 in parts, and then about 450 for new 31's and i couldnt be happier.

you should do a search and you will see many trucks that did this, i need to fix my front suspention though because i put aluminum heads on my motor and now my front end is higher than the back lol and my camber bushings are maxed out already
