1996 F250 Gauges

Hey guys, having some problems with the 1996 F250 I just bought. When I drove it home the battery, fuel, and oil gauges weren't working. The temp gauge was reading on the highside of the safe zone, despite me upgrading from a single core, to a dual core radiator and the waterpump looking new. I found a blown 30 amp fuse on the panel. I replaced it. Now the fuel, temp, and oil gauges are pegged out, but the battery gauge appears to be working now. Are there any common issues with these trucks I should look into? Do I need a new cluster?

It is a 1996 F250 Automatic 5.8L with dual tanks.

Thanks!

The gauges on my car exhibited similar behaviors when a motor-to-frame ground was loose.

ive had my gauges go nuts from a bad ground but usually it wont start if its the main battery ground.

what was the 30amp fuse for?

I didn't have a fuse panel at the time, the bottom of the dash was missing. I replaced it though, I am not at home right now, but I will look later.

Where are some of the major grounds on the truck? I've been told the fuel tank sending unit grounds like to go bad, which is why a lot don't work, is this true? And where would I find it.

Thanks guys!

It was the dash/gauge fuse. It is supposed to be a 10amp, there was a 30 in there. All the fuses are wrong in this truck, some are too low, some are too high.

Any help on the ground locations? The main battery ground on the fender looks good and clean.

Sorry I haven't posted recently, haven't had a chance to work on my truck.

Can anyone point me towards grounds I might check that might be related to my gauge issue?

How do I remove the cluster? I see the 4 bolts holding the cluster to the dash, but there is a cable going into the bottom out of the column, I assume it is for the shift indicator, how do I get that out?

Thanks!
