1954 F100 Heater Box

Does anyone know if the box from a 1956 F100 will fit in a 1954?

Are heater boxes from 1953-1956 all the same?

They were generally the same and the 56 heater should fit in the 54. Remember though that the motor in the 53-55 are 6 volt and the motor in the 56 is 12 volt (but you are probably on board with that already).

Remember also that there were two types of heaters - Fresh Aire and Hot Water. The Fresh Aire heater was ducted to the outside by a louvered vent on the cowl side in the Effies an dhas 4 controls. The hot water heater is all internal and has only two controls.

Here's the Magic Aire!

Hello,
The defroster hoses are a different size. I just went through the same thing looking for one for my 56. The plenums will not interchange either. I have one from a 53 if you're interested.

If the passenger kick panel has a duct sized hole in it, you have a Fresh Air - if not, it is a recirculating version.

Yours is a GM 350, if I recall?

One end to the intake, one to the water pump. There are other configurations but this is one of the most common without AC.

Here is one in a '53 F-100 with the alternator on the starboard side.

What's up with that paint scheme?
