Ford COE 196? Y-Block
 
I found a pile of Big 60's (F-6/7?) Ford COE, What is left of cab is collapesed over/around Y-Block (Rams Horn's).
Did they use the Lincoln Engines in this well defined Truck?

Ford did use a truck-ized version of the Lincoln Y-Block available in C-750, C-800 and C-900 models thru 1963. (Looks like the C850's came with the Super Duty engines.) The engines came in 279 and 317 from 53-55 and 302 and 332 from 56-63. A quick way to distinguish the larger Y-block is with the bolt pattern on the ram horm exh. The smaller Y-blocks were in a single plane. On the larger ones the outer most bolts on each end were canted up a bit. Also, on the larger Y-blocks the valve covers had more pronounced ridges at the bolt location. Pics below:

Forgot to mention the pics are of a '62 332 out of a 750 Series.

No problem Dick, and glad I could help. I've been having issues with the site since I got back last week. Keeps hanging up mid post. I finally got smart and copied verbage before posting. 'was getting tired of re-typing my posts!
