1969 F700 weight? and other questions
 

I am looking at a '69 F700 COE truck with a 16ft grain bed. I need to know what the curb weight is so I can find a way to get it towed to me, can anyone help? :confused:

The person that is selling it does not seem to know much about it and is not much help on getting me the weight. I know there should be a tag with the GVW but would the curb weight be there?

Also I was wondering how hard is it to find parts, brakes and stuff like that? the guy said they rebuilt the brakes but the pedal keeps hitting the floor.

First I'd assume (and again this is just my assumption) that it probably doesn't weigh much if any over 10k. I don't know a whole ton about that particular truck but I know my F600 doesn't weigh 10k lbs so I'd be shocked if your F700 weighed all that much more.

Secondly while the curb weight might not be there I bet the payload and GVWR is, just subtract payload from GVWR and you should be pretty close to right on on what the curb weight is.

And finally at least I haven't had any trouble finding parts. As long as you go to NAPA of course, Shucks or those kind of places will have no clue in my experience at least. For example I replaced the master cylinder on my truck not a year ago and had no problem getting a new one from NAPA.

Speaking of master cylinders that is what I would guess is wrong with that truck's brakes. If the wheel brakes were rebuilt then it is possible that you have brake fluid leaking out of the master cylinder and that is what is causing the pedal to go to the floor. Really any leak of brake fluid will cause the pedal to drop like that, so I'd just go on a search for any leak you might see, fix it, bleed the brakes, and it should solve the problem.
