CD player issues

Has anyone had any issues with their cd changer randomly shuffling through the cd's?

Every now and then, we'll be driving, and out of nowhere the cd player will shuffle through all the cd's and end up on #1 and play. Of course, it never happens again when we run the car down to the dealership. They check it and send us on our way.

Almost every manufacturer's in-dash multi-CD player is destined to failure. So says a couple of stero guys I visited in my efforts to find a fix for an in-dash unit in an Escape.

BEFORE it eats your CDs, which is no big deal, you just remove them with a hammer when it does fail, start shopping for a replacement. A replacement with an mp3 or iPod capability. You can't carry as many CD's as will fit on one of those fellers anyway.

Serving suggestion, ymmv.

Both the 2007 and 2008 Expedition I have/had did/do this. I think it's just a glitch. Mine does it about once a month. Sometimes after I turn the key off. Doesn't bother me.

I have not had this happen yet BUT I really don't use the CD player much...just live on SIRUS 144.

speaking of siruis, how long is that free subscription for? I know my Xm one was 3 months on my last vehicle.

When we bought the 08 it was for 6 months. When we bought our Denali in 05 it was 1 year of XM.
