leveling kit
i have an 06 f150 xlt extended cab and was wondering what you guy would recommend for a kit to level it up. i was also wondering how wide of tire you can get on the stock 18s that i have on my truck.

Autospring 2.5, find it on ebay. I put goodyear silent armors on mine with the factory 18"s that were .9" wider going by the spec sheets on tirerack.

thanks ill have to look for those

I went with Bildstien 5100 shocks for leveling(it does not use a spacer up front), love them so far. I put BFG A/T 33's with no problems. Little pricey but worth it in my opinion.

I went with a leveling kit on my 2007 and then found out my lower ball joints were out. Ford wouldn't replace even though I had 25,000 miles on it because of the leveling kit. I ended up putting moog greaseables in it so I wouldn't have any future problems. So think about this before doing it.

would the shock affect the ride of the truck also would i have to have it aligned if i just use the shocks

I bought the Auto Springs 2" leveling kit for my 07'. I just put on a set of LT285x70R17 Hankook ATM's. I've decided not to put the leveling kit on it. With the bigger tires on it I like the way it looks. I went with the 2" because I pull a boat and didn't want the front end higher than the front when I pulled it. The Hankooks are AWESOME! They fit the truck perfect without having to do the leveling kit. If you give me your email I will send you a pic. If you still want to do a leveling kit I will sell you my new in the box kit for $60 which includes shipping.
Good luck! Matt |
that would be great, my email is jb65542@yahoo.com

I bought the Daystar kit for mine. It's said to bring the truck up an inch (even though the spacers are 1 1/2") to raise up the front end a little, yet allow you to keep some of the factory "dive" in the front end. I personally don't think they look good completely level. Gotta have a bit of a rake.

Hey jb65542 sent you three pics to your email. Let me know what you think!

i like it and the best thing about going with just bigger tires is you dont have to worry about getting and alignment done
