friend talked me into putting Seafoam in my gastank

My friend talked me into putting Seafoam into my gastank...WHOA!

My truck is smoking like a chimney now!

Good Lord- what's that crap doing to my truck!

Wish I never had put that stuff in there.

He also tried talking me into putting another can in my crankcase and straight into my carb.

It ok

what smoke color? White it normal. Why it smoke because you never done before first time it got.

It will go away if you drive long enough.

I have done many times on 79 F150, 01 F250, 96 E350, and many cars to list. It run great after pour sea foam in it.

had a fella from marvel mystery oil talk me into that in my crankcase and gas tank, bottom dropped out of my mileage so I stopped after one time.

don't know if it would have gotten better but like you, the first time reaction was enough for me to say WHOA!

hard to say

depend when I feel I need. Like I plan change spark plugs then I do.

mostly 5,000 to 50,000 miles then do sea foam. But sea foam is $8 so I do every 20,000 miles until mpg drop no reason then I use sea foam.

for engine in crankcase I don't use sea foam I use automatic transmission oil then pour 1 qts then put 500 miles on it then change oil. To get all sludge out.

The can into the carb will make it smoke like heck for a little while. Did you follow the directions on the can?. I use it all the time and have had nothing, but good results. It will knock loose all the deposits and blow them out the tail pipe as smoke.

I put that stuff in the crank case of my big minneapolis moline tractor and WOW it cleaned the lifters out n everything else cuz it runs alot smoother.

i do hope that the OP and the guy who used marvel mystery oil realize that that is how those two products work. white smoke from the exhaust=clean motor! thats all gunk and crap in there that being burned out. marvel, yes you will see a drop in fuel mileage while it cleans everything out. its just how the stuff works. did some seafoam in the intake of my 91 460 and turned the campus parking lot into one giant smoke cloud. im not even kidding, you couldnt see ten feet. then it smoked for about five minutes while i drove it around town. runs better now. :)

you did read the can right? it says that when you do that, to do it in a very well ventilated area as fumes will be EXTREME.

I used seafoam on my old chevy, I made a vacuum line drink it out of the can... do that when it's warm and let it sit for a while... then run the engine until it stops smoking... can't say if it helped much since the truck still ran like crap...
