$130,000 Raptor

Watching Barett Jackson on TV, and they just sold a 2010 Raptor for $130,000.

Never did I think it would sell near that price.

Some people have enough money that it doesn't matter. I am sure he is one of them.

george6488 09-26-2009 07:31 PM

Possibly...........if all the proceeds are going to charity......he just got a BIG write-off.

The IRS would probably allow the $130,000 minus the real cost of the vehicle as he got a benefit from the donation.

IMHO:D

130k on just one, hell if i had that money, i would have bought 3, one for me, my brother and my sister. different colors of course.

berry1234 09-30-2009 01:04 PM

130K for a $25K truck with 15K worth of bolt on items. No thanks.

jwh2car 09-30-2009 02:13 PM

There is one sitting at my dealer's lot that my son told me about. We went and looked at it Wednesday night and it stickered for around $45 or so I think. No markup.

This was a charity deal. BJ offers a few at each event with one focus. To raise a nice chunk of change for whatever the foundation is.

I'm sure there are a few dealers out there who saw this and added more to the ADM. However, BJ is about offering the opportunity for attention. Vehicle values/prices are of no concern to those bidding/buying during prime auction time.

Did anyone of those saying the guy got rip-off read it was for CHARITY? ppl are so quick to judge others they don't even read or think...

1ARyan 10-06-2009 11:36 AM

I know it's for charity, but it's too bad the buyer didn't get the 6.2L for that price. Of course then it wouldn't be a "first retail production" model.

BIGKEN 10-06-2009 06:20 PM

Yeah...apparently a lot of folks didn't read that the proceeds went to charity. Kudos to the guy who bought it!!! Hopefully no one here will need the services of that charity!!!

Ryan...welcome to FTE...say hi to Tony!!!

Apparently a lot of people also missed that it is also the first production raptor to roll off the lines. The first and last of any vehicle are nearly guaranteed to be worth something in the far future.

That and it was for charity. Watch those BJ auctions, they will have a charity car or 2 every auction and they always go for well above market price because 1) it is for charity, 2) it is a write off and 3) they can. So nobody got f$%^&ed on anything.
