Chance to win prizes simply by knowing the year/model group of any Ford/Lincoln/Mercury model!
Fellow Ford Truck Enthusiasts members, in anticipation of the upcoming launch of our new web site, FTE is in need of the year/model groups of all Ford, Mercury and Lincoln models, including cars, trucks, vans and SUVs.
Example: The Crown Vic model was pretty much the same from 1992-1997 so "1992-1997 Crown Vic" would qualify as a year/model group. Another example, "1961-1966 F-Series" or "1980-1986 F-Series". We need every group you can possibly think of, including full size, mid-size, compacts, sub compacts, trucks, vans, SUVs, antiques (Model T, A, etc), Australian makes, European makes, etc. I will post a list on the web site, updating it every few hours over the next 3 days to lesson the chances of duplicate submissions. Each person who sends in a submission we don't already have will be entered into a drawing for the following: One Grand Prize $60 value ------------------------- 2001 Ford Truck Enthusiasts T-shirt "Classic" Ford Truck Enthusiasts T-shirt Licensed Ford ball cap 2 Ford Truck Enthusiasts window/bumper stickers "Tough Tales" book Two First Prizes $32 value -------------------------- 2001 Ford Truck Enthusiasts T-Shirt Ford Truck Enthusiasts bumper sticker "Tough Tales" book Four Second Prizes $15 value ------------------------------ Choice 2001 or "Classic" Ford Truck Enthusiasts t-shirt For every two year/model submissions we accept from you, you will earn a chance in the drawing. Don't worry, if you only come up with one you still receive a chance. Inaccurate year/model groups will be disqualified (ie, sending 1975-1979 F-Series instead of 1973-1979 F-Series). Hurry!!! You don't want someone to beat you with a year/model group submission! Ken Payne Ford Truck Enthusiasts Admin |

================================================== ==========
09 MAR 2001 == Regret to inform you that several of your postings are in error, or are incomplete. Examples: 1969 Ford (Full-Size) is not in the same group as the 1965, but, rather belongs to the 1970 group. 1975 - 1980 Granada is in the same group with the 1975 - 1980 Monarch and the 1977 - 1980 Versaille ----- the 1981 and 1982 Granada is a Fairmont 1952 Ford is the same (heavily face-lifted) car as the 1956 -- the change to Panoramic windshield in 1955 fools them all. --------------------------------------------------------------- I suggest that the standard 1949 - 1951 Lincoln and the 1949 - 1951 Mercury are the same car (engine and tranny deltas), whereas the 1949 - 1951 Lincoln Cosmopolitan is a separate car. -------------------------------------------------------------- The 1949 - 1951 Ford is a separate line. -------------------------------------------------------------- The 1941 - 1948 Ford and Mercury are a single line. ------------------------------------------------------ The 1939 - 1940 Ford and Mercury are a single line, with the curiousity that all of the exterior panels on the 1939 (first year) Mercury are different from the 1939 Ford, whereas the 1940 Mercury used a mixture of 1939/1940 Ford panels and 1939 panels. -------------------------------------------------------- Regret that I don't have time to do a more thorough job. Regards, GranadaMan (1976 Granada base 4-door 302/stick/4-disk/ power windows) |

I see what you're trying to do, but the early Fords are a bag of worms: i.e., 1932: not "V8" as listed but "Model 18" for V8 passenger and "Model B" for 4-cyl passenger and all commercial cars (pickups, sedan deliveries, 1/2-ton panels, etc) both V8 and 4-cyl. '33-'34 is a similar muddle: there is no "V8" designation, per se, but only "model 40" for passenger V8 or 4-cylinder and "model 46" for the commercial cars. 1932-34 BIG truck were all "model BB". There are very few FORD references to "model C" and should not be used to reference the 4-cylinder engine (as many do) as it is the same as the 1932.
1939 Passenger cars are also interesting: the Standard goes with the '37-'38, while the deLuxe goes with the 1940. Pintos became substantially different in 1974 with a new substructure for the 5-mph bumpers and an entirely new front suspension. |

Falcons!
60-63 64-65 66-67 (?) sort of Fairlane bodied 68-70 (?) Fairlane bodied, even with 429's in '70! Rancheros! 60-63 64-65 66 Falcon trimmed 67 Fairlane trimmed 68-69 Courier (the sedan delivery) should count. They started in 1952 and went thru every body change until 1961 (I have seen a full-size '61 Courier) when they went to the Falcon side and made the model change in 64. Is Courier (the Mazda produced pickup) included in your list? |

I went back thru the whole thing several times, and have seen nothing that says respond via e-mail. So, can I move my responses (mininal, there's too much to contemplate) to a time-ordered sequence, or what? In any case, donate it to YOUR favorite charity. Mike |

Hey Ken, You have '74-'78 Mustang, and there was no such thing. It should be '74-'78 Mustang II... I know some classic Mustang guys that would be very upset to have their cars classified with these diminuitive fox bodies :-), although I owned one and Loved it!
