FTE TURNS 5 YEARS OLD!

With all the things going on keeping FTE running I nearly forgot an extremely important announcement for the month of January....

Ford Truck Enthusiasts is officially 5 years old!

Prior to its official launch, it was a loosely tied group of individuals who exchanged Ford truck information via email launched quietly in mid 1996.

I strongly encourage those who don't know our history to check out our history page:

www.ford-trucks.com/history.html

In the beginning, we were called "The Ford Truck Site". This was long before the wannabees and copycats got into the game :-X25 . FTE is truly the site By Enthusiasts, For Enthusiasts. Our monthly visitor count continues to grow.....

For the last 30 days, FTE displayed over 14 million pages (this is page views and does not include images, etc.). Additionally, our logs indicate that an additional 23% more page hits above and beyond the 14 million were cached by browsers.

Through the continued support of our users, and your purchases in our online store, we are able to continue offering the 1st and still the best Ford truck web site. Without sales through our MotorHaven.com online store and our Club FTE memberships, FTE could not continue and we thank those users who have supported us for your patronage.

Ken, Peggy and all,

thanks for 5 long, hard, fun years.. I don't think any of us can appreciate the amount of hard work, dedication and perserverance you guys have put into this site. They say that the sign of true genius is making the hard stuff look easy.. you've done that and very well.

FTE is number one and will continue to be as long as we have you guys at the tiller. And, the most amazing thing is that you continue to make it better, slicker and more user friendly.. KEN - you guru of GUI !!!

Congrads to the Paynes. They have the courage to fulfill a desire that only Ford could burn deep enough into their heart! Just think how bored and uninformed we would all be if it had not been for the frustration Ken had when he couldn't find the info he needed. With a little sweat, calloused fingertips and a whole lot of self supplied money, We all became a family of enthusiasts who now have the comradery and fellowship that all should have. I for one deeply admire and appreciate the effort taken to provide the service that is FTE!!

Incredible, absolutely amazing.

For a site to be this young and be so great is a triumph in itself.

FTE is a major influence these days too, all around the world. And it all started with a parts search...

May FTE always grow, and to the Payne family - my hat is off to you and yours. What started out so simply has the unmistakable mark of greatness all over it! You must be very proud, I know that I am just to be a member of it.

In all sincerity and due respect, kudos to Ken and Peggy on this fantastic milestone. Needless to say, I have been watching this site for quite a long time and must say that The Paynes do a fantastic job. They raise the bar for everyone involved with independently operated enthusiast communities.

Now, as far as it being "the best" ... well ... :-X22

To the next five years...

Thanks Steve! I wish I had a blushing smilie!

Just an FYI, for those who don't know... F150 Online is not included in my humorous "wannabees and copycats" jibe. We even maintain link buttons to each other on the front pages of our sites. F150 Online has been there from the beginning and we've shared ideas, stolen features :-X04 and kept each other abreast of current trends all along. Steve, you're a class act and your site keeps FTE on its toes...

Here's to the continued success of both sites!
