4x4 conversion

Hi I recently inherited a family members 1995 7.3 powerstroke auto 2wd. i am well aware of the disadvantages of a 4x4 conversion but need to have 4x4 for the upcoming winter. otherwise the truck would be quite useless. Recently i found a possible donor truck which is the 1989 version of the truck. i was wondering if anyone could offer advice as to whether or not this conversion would be possible between the model years. Please don't tell me to by a new 4x4 vehicle, this has been on my mind for a while and this is what is available.

Thanks

Ya I am with T-bird. Put a straight axle in there and just leave the twin-i-beam crap alone. Especially the leave spring apllication on the twinIi-beams rides like crap.

The conversion is possible. I'm not sure since it's a diesle if I makes a difference. You will need a 4x4 transmission, transfercas, front and rear drive shafts, the front axle, the 4x4 stick with all the connections, and new u joints. I could be forgeting somethings but that's what you are going to need. It's possible. Just takes time and some planing.
