How to clean Fuel Injectors

I am wondering how hard it is to clean the fuel injectors on a 1990 F150 351W. I have used the Fuel Injector Cleaner that you add to the gas tank, but it does not seem like helped too much. I would like to take my injectors out and give em a really good cleaning.

All of these questions do not need to be answered, I just want to cover all bases.

How is this done?
How long should it take me to do them all?
What do I use to clean em?
Should I do anything else while I am in there?
Should I replace em if they look really bad?
What kind should I replace em with?

etc...

Thank you
Randall

How to clean Fuel Injectors

The mechanics I used to work with said the best thing to do if you are mechanically inclined at all is to take them off and take them to a shop to have them cleaned and tested, they hook them up to a machine that pulses them just like they are pumping fuel, vibrates them ultrasonically, and that believe it or not pumps Simple Green cleaner through them. Then they set them up in another machine that simulates operation with a calibration fluid (just like diesels, I used to work on these machines)and tests them all simultaniously to see if they are all operating properly and balanced, if not they will clean the slow or clogged ones again and retest them. You only have to replace the ones that cannot be restored, they even change, or should that little tiny filter in the injector. You save a lot on labor But make sure you change the 0 rings and think clean. I have replaced a couple and they are not really cheap.
From most I've read exept for fuel line dryer/anti freeze the fuel additives and cleaners are mostly out there to make money for the people who market them and don't really work.
