I don't need them. I want them.

I am upgrading the truck to factory "handling package" specs because it is cheap, and because I can. I carry heavy loads at times, and I would like the extra control afforded by swaybars. If Ford made them available (not like these are aftermarket) and engineered them then I trust that they will upgrade my truck.

If I owned a standard Escort, or Mustang, I would be doing the same thing getting parts off of junked GT models. In fact I have done that very thing in the past with great results.

Why the heck not? :) I like hunting for the weird parts, and then having a 'custom' vehicle that is unlike most others in its class.

When I took apart my junkyard swaybar on Saturday, I found that one of the 'straps', or brackets that mounts the bar to the front cross member is broken.

Anyone ever find a replacement for that other than another junk yard?

Ford dealer didn't know, and Autozone and Advance had no answer either.

Maybe I can just weld the broken one back together.

Its a challenge and I think the end-result will be worth the effort. Comments like Quaddriver's above motivate me to press on.

:)
