Broken Push Rod Cluth master 1996 F150

I have a 1996 F150 5 speed, about three weeks ago the pushrod broke at the bushing (all plastic) I replaced the master and yesterday it broke again, there didnt seem to be any extra resistance that would have caused ot to break. Does anyone have any idea why this broke?

Just curious, did you replace with OE or something other than Motorcraft? I've heard a lot on here say that for anything related to slave or master cylinder if it isn't Ford quality, it won't last long(relating to the slave or master cylinder).

Just a thought, hopefully FTE can help you further.

Are you saying the pushrod broke or the plastic bushing that holds the rod to the clutch lever broke?

If it's the bushing that's breaking, it's probably cuz the shaft bushings are worn and the the shaft is tweaking. Check the push rod eyelet and steel piece that sticks out of the clutch lever for wear. If there's wear in there then things won't operate smoothly.
