Radio light replacement

91 F-150 XLT

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's [original factory] radio lights have gone out. Not all of them are gone- everything's lit up fine except for the station/clock display. Not that big of a deal but it would make a good tinker project if I get bored sometime.

I was just wondering if anybody's replaced the bulbs and where I might source the bulbs? I would like to think my local parts store, but then I thought someplace like Radio Shack might be a better source.

Thanks!

So easy. I've done it twice now when I've bought trucks.

Just pull the bezel off the surround, and there are two torx screws that hold the radio bracket in. The article will give you the rest.

I found it was even easier to remove the top cover on the radio. A little prying and it pops right of, saves you the trouble of removing the knobs and screws. I tried to take the face off originally, but for some reason the wires were to short and wouldn't let me pull it away. This way you can remove the bulb from the back by untwisting it as I hear it's a bit difficult to remove it from the front. Here's what it looks like with the top removed, I had already popped the bulb housing out.
