mud flap / guards
 

Hi All,

Looking for input on "Sturdy" mud guards. I have a 02 f250, I am just getting it repainted as all of the old flaps got torn off from snow banks and such. And as a result, paint got pulled off. I do plow with the truck, so that is the reason. But are there any out there that will stay on a bit better. I will not be hitting banks at full speed but things happen and I dont want to worry.

duraflap are really good quality.

Thick flexable ones.

Take a look at the Duraflaps, very thick and sturdy.

I put semi mud flaps on mine, They rpotect it well. Generic flaps from a truck shop are $7.00 each. Trim And fit. On the rear ones becarefull, you might want to use a chain if mudding or backing over uneven ground. I also put in brackets off the frame so it doesnt hang off the body panels

My $14.00 Flaps

Don't waste money on Duraflaps, they are great for on road use in the rain, but I have re-attached all of them after they fell off/got ripped off in the mud and snow.

TOOMANY, I take it that you have/had them then? I was thinking of getting them because I have heard that many others love them. I would probably say that I will never off-road my X. Thats what my dodge is for.

Yes, I have a set, two of the four are still on my pickup. I think they would be fine if you are not going to off-road.

I would also recommend not getting the no-drill version of duraflap. Get the non predrilled and drill your own holes in your pickup and the flaps and I think you wil be happier with the results. I got the pre-drilled and the fit is very poor.

I picked up a set on ebay that have a stainless steel plate on the bottom with f-250 or 350 cut out of the plates, they are heavy duty and were not too pricey. I just put them on with some self tapping sheet metal screws. Just do a search for f-250 mud flaps on e-bay and they probably have hundreds to choose from.

I picked up a pair in Ebay and attached them with screws and fender washers. Now that I have done that I think the best idea is to go 1 step further and get some heavy truck flap material and cut them to a custom size and then use my own holes and fender washers. Trying to get a flap with the right holes and the right flap is a waste of time. ............Custom!!!!!!!!:-X0A6
