New timing belt no spark.
I recently picked up a 91 ford ranger with an auto. The previous owner said it quit running and will no longer start at all. So I replaced the timing belt due to missing teeth. When I put everything back together I started and ran rough for a few seconds and died again. It will no longer start.
I had the DIS module tested at the local parts store twice and it was said to be in good condition. I looked at the crank sensor and cleaned the fins with some fine sandpaper. Where is the next place to look and tips? |
Make sure the new belt is still in good shape. It could be the cam, tensioner, or countershaft is seizing.
