vacuum mapping for 74' f100 302

almost finished with rebuild install. I marked all vacuum lines to where they would go but it has been so long that the markings have disappeared. I am going fron 2 barrel carb to a 4 barrel carb too.
Thanks
Garry

You might be able to figure this one out. I should say, you might have to... sorry.
I just haven't seen any responses to this kind of "vacuum map" question here.
Count up how many vacuum sources you have, manifold and carb.
Match those up with how many components need a vacuum source.
Eg., vacuum advance, pwr brakes, wipers, etc.
Unless you can find a diagram somewhere, you can probably logically figure this out.
Might be a good time to invest in a vacuum gauge too, if you haven't already.

Good luck,
Murph.

what do you think if I took some pixs & placed them here & see if anyone has seen this type of set up before?

fmc400 06-26-2009 08:42 AM

Sure thing, we can take a look at that. Here is a general diagram you can use for the 2-barrel setup. It's not complete but can at least get you started. A '74 probably won't have the smog pump. Which 4-barrel are you going with?

how can I copy pics onto this site, I tried & it wnats to take me to a http site to get them from.

To post pics you use the code that has [IMG] in front and behind it, from where ever you have the pic loaded too. Just insert the code for the pics when your typing your reply and the pics will show up.

EDIT: Another easy thing to do is create a gallery on here with your pics and then post them that way using the FORUM CODES for each pic. There will be a link in blue that says FORUM CODES below each pic and you just copy and paste that code that pops up into your reply.

EDIT #2:How to post pics from your (or anyone's) gallery.

I will try to expalin since the pics are not laoding.
Behind carb (Holly 4 barrel) a five port tree, two coming out the back (towards firewall) & two on the sides, & finally one on very top (which looks big).

Then I have a three port tree on top of the water inlet from heater core.

Then I have a two port tree that is on manifold (right next to the three port tree)

Then I have a two port on the vacuum on the distrubutor

I don't know what went wrong? They wouldn't post for me either when I tried to post them from your gallery, so I just saved them to my computer then uploaded them to tinypic.com and posted them from there.

That motor must have came from a newer truck? Ours don't need all of those ports. I made a vacuum diagram off of the one that FMC posted earlier with the way mine is set up because I don't have power brakes, EGR, or Smog pump on mine. Here is my diagram made from his.

yes it came off a 74' f100, 302. The motor I replaced the old one is a 302 too & it came off a 70? something truck.
