'08 F-350 Navigation Radio Upgrade

3 Attachment(s)
My Navigation Radio is installed and nearly as I can tell works properly. I do have a question for someone whose '08 Super Duty came factory equipped with the Nav system. Is your menu color blue, or is it green like the rest of the dash lighting? What about the audio status bar on the top? Is it white lettered or is it green? Thanks!

Now for those couple of you that are interested in this process, it was a direct exchange of ACMs. All wiring plugged in the Nav ACM just like it did the Audiophile. Installing the GPS Antenna was a bit different for me because the antenna that the seller shipped with the Ford ACM unit was not identical to the OEM Ford. I ended up using adhesive velcro strips to secure it under the dash. All in all it probably took about two hours.

I have one caution. If buying an OEM system from other than a Ford dealer, the correct ACM number for the Super Duty is 7C3T-18K931-BG. Others may work, but this is the one that would have been OEM in the '08 SDs.

The first picture is the before picture. The second shows the screw covers removed from the upper center finish panel. These are the panels that house the cigar lighter and adjustable pedal switch on the left side and the line in recepticle on the right. They are notched on the bottom edge. A flat blade screwdriver pops them out. There are wiring harnesses that disconnect by squeezing the latch and pulling. Behind each of these covers is a screw that requires a 7mm hex socket wrench to remove. Once these two screws are out, you can pry the upper center finish panel away from the dash. This is picture three, the upper center finish panel removed. I did not disconnect all the wiring harnesses. I did not need to in order to get clearance to remove the ACM. None of the wiring I disconnected had identical ends, so it was easy to plug it back in correctly. More in subsequent threads.
