I have a 96 F150 I want it to sit at the same level as the lightnings of the same body style. What parts on the lightning would I have to swap into my truck so they sit the same?

hello ron, i own a 95 f150, and to get it to sit like a lightning, i went to the dealership and ordered the front springs from a lightning, i think the spring codeis "P4J", if it is not right, find someone with a lightning, and look at their VIN tag on the driver's side door, then take that to the parts department. i believe the sprigs cost me $35 each, and was easy to install, tae old off, put new on. as far as the back ones, you would have to get shackles and spring hangers, and that will make your truck level. lightning rear springs cost about $250 each, and hangers and shackles will cost approx. $100, a whole lot cheaper. any other questions, feel free to ask.

With the shorter springs in the front will allignment be a problem?
Do the hangers and shackles you are talking about come from ford or one of the aftermarket companies that sell lowering kits?

"P4J" is the correct spring code for the lightning - I was doing some research attempting to do this very thing to my truck a few months ago. I found a lightning on a car lot and took a look at the code myself. When I found out the cost of putting the lightning springs on the back of my truck, I decided it would be in my best interest to find a cheaper method.

I bought a set of Belltech extended shackles for about $60. They're 2 inches longer than the factory shackles but the geometry will only drop the truck an inch.

Keep in mind the Lightnings also had 17" wheels and fill the wheel wells a little better than the 15s on the others.

I have a 1999 F150 Flare side regular cab and I also like the look of the lightning. I realize it may be a little more difficult to lower a 4 X 4 but I would like to lower it as much as I can.

Any sugestions

I have a 85 F150 that I swapped out the 300/6 for a 95 302HO crate. Will the front springs for a Lightin work on this truck? I also installed front and rear sway bars by ADDCO, and I plan on buying new wheels as soon as I can wear out the tires:-) How much lower will the lightin springs be? I have the rear shackles (belltech) already.

Thanks,
Moe
