Well, I checked out Pete's new place. Not the actual suite he'll be in, but the building. Looks real nice. Didn't get a chance to check out the view though, as a garbage truck was pulling in behind me so I had to get out of the way. Fair amount of parking for the party.

Walking distance to Sam'z Pub. That's a bonus, no drinking and driving.

You done good Pete.:-drink

Thanks Joe. The close proximity to the Pub was a highlight for sure. :-X03

bigrigfixer 06-30-2009 11:17 PM

Ha ha.

Where'd you go?

Flying_Dutchman 06-30-2009 11:30 PM

Online only so far. I thought I would need a dresser, couch/loveseat and TV. Then I see a table, then lamp, then bookshelf...... and it goes on. Im ball parking the Couch/loveseat and TV at about 5k.

bigrigfixer 06-30-2009 11:47 PM

What's that place called on Fraser Highway, with the big wooden chair outside? We went there for a few things. And J&R Furniture for a custom couch and some chairs. Wife has expensive tastes. From Costco, we got the last dining room set (that we could see). I laughed at the other people looking at the boxes, we walked up with a flat deck and loaded up. Nothing they could do about it.

It really wasn't the last dining room set, but we were there the week before set on buying it. Found out it would be on sale the following week. Turns out we got there just in time. Got the last sale item until the restock, which wasn't gonna be on sale.

That's just the stuff we got for our new house 3 years ago.

When we got our townhouse before that, we did Ikea and the Brick. Mostly cheaper stuff, looks nice though.

But if I'm gonna give you any advice, stay away from pressboard. Get solid wood if you can. All our Ikea stuff is solid wood. Our Brick bedroom set is pressboard and you can tell just by looking at it.

I just have a stock truck, like every other one driving around, so no point really.

But thanks for the thought Joe.

I think it's boring for the most part. If I have to go, I look for quality. I don't much care how pretty it looks.

Sure can drain a bank account fairly quickly though.

That's okay. My truck is stock too. Probably why I only got 14 votes? Haha. But what have you got to lose? You have an 09!!!

I know the place with the big chair, right by the train tracks. Ill check there at some point. As for quality. Im aiming to only do this once. I know its going to cost a lot but it saves having to upgrade in a year or so. Pressboard, is not on the list.
