1985 f250 Exhaust
 

Anyone have any good layout plans for a dual exhaust?
i don't want the conventional dual though, I am hoping to have the exhaust exit right behind the driver and passenger door.
i'm replacing all of the exhaust pipe, minus the exhaust manifold and just wanted to know if anyone else happened to have a layout like this, or similar to this.
BTW, it's not a 4X4, and it has the 2bbl 351W

well, how about straight pipes to where you want em? or you could do a X-pipe or even a H pipe... are you needing to pass inspection? how about noise, can it be loud and not cause you issues? IE exiting so close to teh cab means very loud inside the cab....

Have each side cross to the outside of the frame just behind the radius arm bushings. Then run it along the outsides of the frame to where you want it and dump it or point it out the side. You will have plenty of room for a muffler/glasspack/cats if you want any...but I dont recommend them

Hittman-Since I live in Nebraska, I don't need to pass any inspections, and I am not too concerned about the sound, i have a good enough sound system to kill off some of the interior noises.
Sycostang- I was thinking the same thing, I like the the layout of the stock passenger side, I am going to dry and make it look like that, but the driver side is going to be different, the gas tank gets in the way of where my muffler would be.
Having the exhaust pipe come under the frame shouldn't cause any clearance problems, should it? (it's either going to be a 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" pipe)

You shouldn't have any clearance problems. I run my exhaust that way. It should hang about the same height as your radius arm bushings. It actually improved my clearance over the stock exhaust.

hooker and dynomax i believe have true duals that can be either be header or manifold mount. both summit or jegs have them and both pipes exit the passenger side behind the rear wheel like stock.

I don't want it to exit any where near the back of my truck, I would like for them to be right up behind the cab, it's more unique, that and it costs less to have them dump behind the cab rather than the wheels. Less exhaust pipe is needed :)
I want one pipe on each side of the cab, one from each exhaust manifold.

haha, that is pretty much exactly it.
nice color truck btw, mines the exact same.
i'm gonna pull the pipes a bit closer to the cab though, maybe 1 or 2 inches behind the cab

there is alot of room under there for muffler placement.my mufflers are pretty much under the cab and brought the pipes to exit just before the rear tires.it is also quiet in the cab while crusing,can leave the radio on low and talk with passengers.

I like the way yours looks, so i may end up just going with that layout.
