What is/are the difference(s) between the C4 transmission and the C6?

Difference between C4 and C6?

The basic difference is the C-4 has a removable bellhousing and the C-6 does not. The C-4 is fine for small block engines or light to medium duty, but if you have a big block or intend to use your tranny in a heavy duty capacity get a C-6. The torque produced by the big blocks will shred a C-4.
Welcome to the club!

Weight and size are the big differences too.

You can lift and wiggle a C-4 into place holding it over your head with two hands on a car. You have to work a lot harder with a C-6 on a truck :>
