Dupont Teflon Tire Shine users... Heads Up!!

Almost two years ago, I posted some pics and details about using Dupont's Teflon Tire Shine as a final treatment of under-hood plastic and hoses. Since then, I have not been able to find the Tire Shine ANYWHERE... searched online like crazy off and on for at aleast a year now.... DISCONTINUED..... sort of!!

Just this Saturday, I was cruising through a local Big Lots store and found it Again!!! I bought every bottle on the shelf, and will be heading to a second store which supposedly has some more for me. To boot, instead of the original price of like $6.50-$8.50 per bottle, I got the stuff for $3.50 per bottle.

So, if you're looking for this stuff, go check your Big Lots store... they may just have some in stock for you at a good price.

I've been searching for it everywhere. Will try Big Lots this week.

Thanks for the tip, Pete!

That's because of the "Evil corporations need not apply" policy in the North East. ;)

If they do have it I'll buy a bunch and if you need some I'll send you some.

I'll have to admit, I had not realized that it had been nearly two years since I cleaned my engine bay (and that's about 65,000 miles)!

Yes, it needs cleaning, but it's still not nearly as bad as I thought it would get in that kind of time frame. Therefore, I'm really sold on the non-dirt-attracting characteristics of this non-petroleum-based product!!:)

I was thinking about making some available, too, Jason... not yet sure how much I'm going to end up with, though, until after I make round 2 at the second store.

Hmmm, scratches head and realizes that the cafeteria at the Big Lots distribution center is one of his customers...... and is heading there after lunch to get an order. Let me turn over some rocks and see if I cant come up with something.

Nah, I'm good. I guess because technically I live in the south, we have Big Lots here. That and the fact that I am not as obsessive as say Rick or Pete about how clean my engine compartment is, I won't be losing any sleep over not getting it super clean and shiny if I can't find some at my local Big Lots. ;)

Didn't you mean to say "Brandon walks up and up roots the dang tree to shake it." ? 8D

Well, I think that would probably be his equivalent to me going to a second store.

bdrummonds 05-11-2009 02:26 PM

I think that maybe I just picked a stick up off the ground, because they told me they cannot sell directly out of the distribution center. BUT they did tell me that you could have a manager order cases to be sent to your favorite store. Just remember once its gone, its gone. I will check with my local store in Prattville tonight and see if they have any.

AzBlueWolf 05-11-2009 02:53 PM

I went to one store nearby, they had it in a 3 pack with wheel cleaner and carwash for $9
