Opinions on NEW WHEELS

Looking for new wheels for my Ranger which is Toreado Red. Would like to find a set of the Alcoa like Brenda has on her ranger or maybe one of these:

1. ATX Mojave

2005 Ford Ranger Sup 4wd FX4

2. Ultra Baja Champ

2005 Ford Ranger Sup 4wd FX4

3. Ultra Rogue

2005 Ford Ranger Sup 4wd FX4

Just a word of caution George, 2 of those wheels are polished and 1 is machined. Pay very close attention to the type of finish each style has good and bad points and different types of care. I went with polished wheels because you can always polish them back since they wont flake or chip like cleared or chrome but in the same they can be tough to keep that way sometimes.

Out of the wheels you have there I like the first one the best myself

Mojave's are awesome George and I believe they come in black. I checked the Alcoa site today and they run like $300 a pop! Dang! I've got a post up about them on Ranger Forums. A guy has a set but he's in Ontario I believe. Still got feelers out for ya!

Thanks Brian, that's a big help.

Brenda thanks for your help.

I found an online Ford dealer that will sell ones like yours for $229/wh

Foxxy 04-20-2009 05:07 PM

Ahhh, $229 is much better

glruff 04-20-2009 05:10 PM

Brenda did you tell me your's are 16"?

Foxxy 04-20-2009 05:14 PM

No their 15"

glruff 04-20-2009 05:17 PM

Gotcha, in the Ranger forum, a post said 16's with a 285 tire will be about a 32 equivalent. Does that sound right?

Foxxy 04-20-2009 05:31 PM

Ouch, that I don't know. I was trying to convert mine. There's a calculator DML Tire and Wheel Calculator but I don't know if that will help ya.

Thanks that works

sonicbluestx 04-20-2009 08:43 PM

just my 2 cents, 285 75 16 is about 33 inches. man all those math classes finally pay off..

Thanks Bobby.

Hey when you go to the ranger meet in Lancaster, ask around, I looking for some Ranger Alcoa wheels.

tiny1 04-20-2009 08:59 PM

Wow George, you are looking at putting some big meat under your Ranger.

I have 265/75R16's on my 150 and they look just right on it.

tiny1 04-20-2009 09:01 PM

oh and for rims, I am at a toss up between the Mojva or the Baja Champ.

sonicbluestx 04-20-2009 09:06 PM

ill def keep a look out, esp being as im searching high and low for wheels. as for the 285/75 thats a huge foot print over 11 inches would be on the ground. Does DE have a law about how wide wheels can be?? (i dont know being as i dont particularly follow DE law)
