My new toy
Sorry I haven't been on for awhile. My Expy became my tow vehicle for my new toy. It is an 01 Vehicross, which they only made about 4000 of. I even got matching wheels to go with my Expy:-X0A6

I always liked those little things. Have fun with it.:-X0A6

sorry, but I just have to say it: That thing is hideous.
It must be fun to drive in the mud though. |
Never seen one of those .
Give us some detail . It looks nice the way you have it set up. |
My wife thought it was hideous too.:) Now she likes it, it gets a LOT of attention.
It is a 2001 Isuzu Vehicross. One of the only vehicles to go from concept to production. They only made about 4000 total. Most people wouldn't pay 30K for a 2 door SUV in the late 90s early 00s. It has a 240HP 3.5L V6, so it will get up and go. 26" rear wheel travel...stock, 4wd of course. Leather Recaro racing seats front and back, actual titanium accent parts. It is listed as a PUV, (performance utility vehicle). They are fairly difficult to find, I went all the way to Columbus, OH from Charleston,SC to get mine. It was the closest for sale. As far as I am concerned, completely worth it. I have done a lot to it, basically everything I wanted to do to the Expy, but not really practical. It has rocksliders, full belly skid plates, rancho9000xls adjustable shocks, OME springs, and the list goes on. I get about the same gas mileage as my Expy though, between 12-13mpg city. I am using the Expy as a tow vehicle and am going to the Isuzu meet in Uhwarrie, NC in a few weeks, and then to Moab, UT in May. Thats gonna be a long haul, again. With less than 12K miles on my Expy, and over 3500 was drivin from San Diego to Charleston, I am gonna add another 6000 in the next month...LOL. Good thing the Expy runs/tows like a champ. I have ZERO complaints about my Expedition. I understand that it is ugly, but under that plastic is an exoskeleton, alll welded tubes, so the worst damage I get is plastic torn up...I love my VX.Oo. http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/da...edium/FLEX.JPG https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=213788&.jpg http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/da...m/100_4881.JPG http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/da...m/IMGP0055.JPG When it was still stock. |
Sweet!! Looks like good times to me! :-X0A6

Looks like some fun times with that thing. I see one running around my part of PA but it's got the 20" rims with the low-profile street tires on it...nothing that I personally care for but maybe it lights their fire.

Damn, what a waste of a VX. They have 26" rear wheel travel for offroading, not for making it look like a Honda Civic. 20s are ok, if they have the Nitto mud grapplers to with them...

Dang i would love that whole setup, expy and all. I'm still thinking about trading my expy in about two years for an 07/08/09 4x4 EL.
