Edge evolution or gauges?

i'm sure there has been a post, i did a search but it puts up like 50 pages of stuff. half of which seem like it doesn't give enough detail. So...

Why do some folks prefer the Edge over the pillar gauges? or vice versa?

seems like the edge does everything. plus read codes and such. has the pyro probe, just wondering. i want to know what my truck is doing.

somebody correct me if im wrong, but the edge reads the trans temp and boost from the PCM which isnt exactly spot on which will give you the wrong reading. Most prefer to buy pilar gauges and a DP tuner. I bought gauges and found an older edge evolution on craigslist for sale for cheep. Ultimatly i want a DP tuner, from what iv read and heard theres non better. but for now my PMS is being held at bay with my setup.

Bubba is right the pillar gauges read right off the exhaust of the MAP line. where as the edge just reads what the PCM says it is. Most of the time the PCM will be close to correct but i just like to know what the exact numbers are when using a tuner or towing anything
