anyone know of any open jobs in tn?

anybody know of any open construction or excavating jobs in east or middle tn? Me and my dad both got laid off in november. We were workin for a company out of crossville, and as far as we know its only a partial layoff but dad wants to move on anyway, as for me i might wait it out. I dont have near as much experience as dad. If anyone knows of anything let me know, ive tried the online job search stuff and that never works out, for some reason you cant really find any grading or excavating job openings on those job search sites. Any other construction or excavating guys on here?

I don't have any contact names but if you get off I40 at exit 226 we have new construction going on everywhere. Just turn left or right off the interstate and you will see. New shopping malls and other retail with more on the drawing board. We also have houses being built.
Do a search on Mount Juliet, Tn. I think is this economy we would be considered a boom town

Franklin and Brentwood is still having construction done, both homes and roadwork. Although based on the county unemployment rates for TN that I've seen last week, I think these operations aren't operating nearly at capacity and it'll be hard to get in.

Jobs are scarce around my place. There is some road construction & a little commercial work. Construction is so slow I started doing service work for a reality company instead of new homes.

yea its bad right now. Hopefully itll get better soon though. I think we are gonna submit our resumes to civil constructors, im sure you guys have heard of them. Its a pretty big outfit in middle tn. We done a job down in spring hill for a different company back in 07, and civil was boomin then. According to there website they have several projects that are over a million bucks a pop. They got the TDOT contract for highway 64 (might be wrong highway number) down in lincoln county...its a 25 million dollar project, so with any good luck maybe we can get on there. normally id be out helpin myself, but in this tough economic situation we both decided we should stick together lol. I know how to use the computer to find companies and he knows how to get the jobs. He dont have a clue how to use a computer and i dont have enough experience to get a job with the big companies yet lol.

If your talking about the highway that goes from Fayetteville to Winchester, then it's HWY 64 running thru Lincoln and Franklin Counties.

Murph2006 03-13-2009 11:11 PM

yea thats it tex, 64. Dad decided if he can he is goin to wait on a job in richmond, ky. As far as i go, i have a chance of gettin on at the Y12 Plant in oak ridge, thats just a 62 mile trip from my house so thats good enough for me. As far as the county im in, forget a job you couldnt buy one, nor the county below or to the west. Im up in scott county, n if u know anything about scott county you know its dead up here lol. fentress and morgan are about the same. But im still up for civil down on 64 if it happens. I have also worked for those drama companies before. its almost ridiculous lol. If you ever heard of r and r excavating in harriman, that at the time was the most dramatic place to work, its changed now tho cause they dont have any work or money lol.

crum71 03-13-2009 11:16 PM
