Copper Boost Presssure Line???
 

I was just wondering if its possible to replace the plastic 1/8" boost pressure line with a 1/8" copper line. Then I wouldnt have to worry about kinks in the line. Anyone think this would work?

It'll work. The trick is is ensuring a tight seal on each end where plastic stretches and contracts kind like elastic it seal the end with relative ease. The copper wont do that so you have to compression sleeves and theyre hard to get a great seal think about water lines on a swamp cooler they work for a while but the compression fittings AKA ferrels always seem to start leaking after a while. second part while plastic lines kink the littlest bit of adjustment and theyre back in working order, copper you kink it and it done. Personally Id stay with the plastic and suggest checking your routing of the line and see if theres a way to adjust it to streamline and leave slack in areas where you need flex so it doesnt kink. Plastic is more forgiving than copper, except when its hot enough to melt.

I am thinking of replacing my oil pressure gauge line with copper. It can be done you just have to take your time installing and put it where it will stay. I hate the quick connect fittings I was supplied with, they leak after about a year. But that was the only fitting around for a 4mm line. I am getting ready to replace it with a copper 1/8". I am dreading the install but I will be glad when it is done.

Are they not the same lines as used for oil pressure guages?

Oil; pressure and boost lines can be the same material. The vendor I bought mine from supplied 4 mm and not the 1/8" standard size. It is very hard to find a 4mm connection so I was stuck with the quick connect that they supplied.
Now I have to redo it so I believe I will try the copper and be done with it.

I am also going to replace to oil press line with copper. I have mine plumbed in where the original sending unit was in the HPOP resevoir. After time my plastic line broke off the fitting from the vibrations. I had 12 quarts of oil in my engine bay. What a mess!

I have mine plumbed in by the oil filter.

I also went to the oil filter with copper because of what Matt71 said.

Where exactly did you plumb in by the oil filter? Im thinking where the small plug is in the block???? Thanks.

Its been awhile and I'll have to look again but I'm sure I used a T off the line that runs to my FS bypass filter from the head of the oil filter.

the first day i had my gauges installed i kinked my plastic tubing. went out and bought another kit, bent that one too. i said screw it im going with the caddilac of tubing. got the copper and its been smooth sailing ever since. i ran my copper in 3/16" wire loom to protect it. installation time took a little longer compared to the plastic

use the port marked "A", it's 1/8 NPT. The "B" is a return to the pan.
