Are the buttons on the drivers visor a remote garage opener? if so can someone tell me how to program them.thanks in advance

step 3 with procedures noted in the

8. Return to the vehicle and firmly press, hold for two seconds and
release the HomeLinkbutton. Repeat the press/hold/release sequence
again, and, depending on the brand of the garage door opener (or other
rolling code equipped device), repeat this sequence a third time to
complete the programming.
HomeLinkshould now activate your rolling code equipped device. To

Do not program HomeLink

with the vehicle parked in the garage.
Note: Your vehicle may require the ignition switch to be turned to the
ACC position for programming and/or operation of the HomeLink. It is
also recommended that a new battery be placed in the hand-held
transmitter of the device being programmed to HomeLinkfor quicker
training and accurate transmission of the radio-frequency signal.
1. Press and hold the two outside
buttons releasing only when the red
light begins to flash after 20
seconds. Do not repeat step one to
program additional hand-held
transmitters to the remaining two
HomeLinkbuttons. This will erase
previously programmed hand-held
transmitter signals into HomeLink.
2. Position the end of your
hand-held transmitter 2–8 cm (1–3 inches) away from the HomeLink
button you wish to program (located on your visor) while keeping the
red light in view.
3. Simultaneously press and hold
both the HomeLinkand hand-held
transmitter button. Do not release
the buttons until step 4 has been
completed.

4. The red light will flash slowly and then rapidly. Release both buttons
when the red light flashes rapidly. (The rapid flashing light indicates

5. Press and hold the just-trained HomeLink

button and observe the red
light. If the light is a constant red, programming is complete and your
device should activate when the HomeLinkbutton is pressed and
released. Note: To program the remaining two HomeLinkbuttons,

begin with step 2 in the “Programming” section — do not repeat step 1.

Erasing HomeLink

 buttons

To erase the three programmed
buttons (individual buttons cannot
be erased):

Press and hold the two outer
HomeLinkbuttons until the red
indicator light begins to
flash-after 20 seconds. Release
both buttons. Do not hold for
longer that 30 seconds.
HomeLinkis now in the train (or
learning) mode and can be programmed at any time beginning with step
2 in the “Programming” section.

Reprogramming a single HomeLink

To program a device to HomeLink

using a HomeLinkbutton previously
trained, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the desired HomeLinkbutton. Do NOT release the
button.
2. The red indicator light will begin to flash after 20 seconds. Without

Can I take a visor with the garage opener on it and just add it to my vehicle? Where does it plug in or is it battery operated? Thanks!

OK...
One button is a garage door opener.
The second button inflates the tires.
The third button is the passenger eject button... for those days the mother in-law takes a ride in your X.

Oh. Mine's different. The one on the left opens the garage door, the one in the middle turns red traffic lights green for me, and the one on the right makes 6686L make another self-agrandizing, insulting post. Sorry about the overuse of the right one. One of my kids pushes it to make the other ones laugh. I am trying to make him understand that it is not OK to laugh at people like that.

Lemme see if I can slow down alittle to explain in the most simplistic form so ya'll can comprehend... oh sorry understand.

Question 1: Can one take a visor with the garage opener and add it to an Excursion that doesn't have it?

Question 2: Is the garage opener battery operated or does it connect to some part of the vehicle for operation?

Please if I am using too many big word let me know I can recommend a special needs school for your much needed help.

It gets power from the vehicle. I believe as long as you tie into power, you can add the home link to a vehicle that did not have it before. Probably the same harness in the visor. My truck has home link, but it doesn't fit in my garage. Also, both my garage doors recently broke. Stupid plastic geers...

I spent 3 days using both the ex instructions and the opener instructions to no luck. So, next time your going down to the Florida Keys stop by program mine and lunch will be on me. :)
